Another great day. Sunny, windy. Great being outside. Went to the Wheaton Arts Center which focuses on glass making, a major former industry in south NJ because of the sand. Huge number of plants in this area. Watched a great glass blowing demonstration and a wonderful glass museum. However as Jack says Disney needs to take it over. We practically had the whole place to ourselves. The wood carving artist (as in decoys and other bird figures) who didn't start carving until he was 57 years old about 20 years ago, said NJ has cut back funding in a major way so no school groups and tourist tours on the way to Cape May, etc are way down. Too bad- really nice and learned a lot. Largest bottle in the world is there - Guiness record plaque says so. Then a great lunch in Millville which has a lot of galleries and shops, etc. Jack picked out a great restaurant - Oliver's Twist. Cream of asparagus soup and ciabbata sandwiches. Had lots leftover. Again, had the place to ourselves although well designed room, great menu, etc. Guess weekends are their thing in these places.
We are noticing a lot of guys - in all shapes, sizes, and ages - with bandanas tied over the top of the their heads. Must be in the in-image up here. Also, a lot of motorcyles with the same variety of people. Maybe the bandanas go under the motorcycle helmets - I don't know.
I am having a hard time uploading pictures but will keep trying. And oh yes thanks to the SPTRS gang for the GPS. The perfect gift - it is just wonderful. Saving us time and gas I'm sure.
Also, Janice will know the inside joke - I forgot to say yesterday that the first traffic light when you get off the Cape May ferry is at SHUN PIKE ROAD. Do you believe it?!
