A day on the road – a half decent “state” highway. Stopped on the outskirts of Halifax to shop, had lunch at the Canadiana – this huge diner Greek owned with comfort food. I had turkey and Jack had liver and onions. Then to the superstore which is a grocery chain. Took forever and I didn’t think the selection was so good compared to other stores. Very long lines and slow-w-w. Appears to be the in suburb of Halifax. Lots of apartments and condos nearby and one of everything including Walmart where we shopped. Did a $3 car wash to get off all the red dirt from the Cape D’Or dirt road ride. We then headed west on a state highway bragging how nice it was not to be on curvy, two lane roads when came across a long stretch of construction with no clue it was coming. Very rough and deeply grooved awaiting new black top we assumed. We are still surprised about how hilly it is and more beautiful big farms. Stopped in Lunenburg which was settled by Germans brought here primarily to replace the Acadians. We found by accident really a municipal rv park next to a blockhouse that used to protect the city. It’s a info center now. High up on a windy hill. Pictures are of the harbor and back harbor views from our site. We are officially on the Atlantic Ocean. Hoping for good weather tomorrow because lots of stuff to see here. The whole town is a Unesco Historical site because so many buildings have been preserved.
