Left Val's house at about 11:15. Stopped in Annapolis and took a quick free shuttle around the town. Bumper to bumper traffic and hoards of people waiting to get into the restaurants so we didn't even get off. Bay Bridge is something else. MD eastern shore and Delaware filled with beautiful huge farms. We assume many Mennonites. Saw a couple churches. Arrived at Lewes DE about 4:30. Great state park just a few miles from the ferry terminal - it's Cape Henlopen which is on the highest sand dune between Cape Cod and Cape Hatteras. They have restored one of the towers that were erected in WW II to protect Delaware Bay from the Nazis in the park and there is a Biden (as in Senator) ecology center. Absolutely gorgeous day!
