We picked up rv and it’s running great. Also got rental car so we could park and get around Halifax. The drove onto the so-so rv park about 20 minutes from downtown. Cannot figure out how they price things. $21 for a site right on the beach and $34 for this which is nothing much. Any way, another surprise. We started out in Halifax at the Citadel with the Scottish Highlanders, etc. There was a big white tent and all of this hub-bub started. Well, it turned out that the Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia was holding her annual tea party which is open to the public at the Citadel because her home is undergoing renovations. So we got to see a lot more than usual – lots of Royal Canadian Mounted Police, military, etc. Lt. Gov is the lady in pink in the picture. The Canadian version of boy and girl scouts were helping to serve and ladies were actually pouring tea at these long tables. So had some tea sandwiches, cookies, and the sweetest lemonade I ever tasted. Sunny, beautiful day so we sat around and listened to this great orchestra. Maritime something or other. Really, really makes a difference when it is a great orchestra.
We then drove down and caught the little commuter passenger ferry that runs to Dartmouth across the harbor just to see the skyline and then stopped into the casino that’s on the waterfront. Pretty small and just like Tampa’s -- very slow service and our hamburgers were cooked to death. Staying here another day to see more of the sights.
